Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos unveiled the $119 Kindle Paperwhite WiFi eReader at a Santa Monica press conference on Thursday. The 3G edition will cost $179.
The Kindle Paperwhite might be a game changer in a variety of different ways.
1) This new Kindle Paperwhite eReader supports a higher resolution and better contrast. This is the first time this readability issue has been addressed in recent models. This will make the Kindle even more enjoyable to read.
2) A built-in light (similar to the most recent Nook). This is probably the best feature. However, it will sure change the booklight market for ereaders.
3) An 8-week battery life even with the battery on. Wow!
This could be a real game changer. People might actually upgrade their old kindles and this looks to be a slick device once it gets into users hands who don’t have Kindle.
