4.5 stars on 34 reviews

Women’s Fiction

The consequences of an affair from the past still haunt them today…

Dina returns to the apartment she shares with Rosa, her widowed mother.

Her world is about to be thrown into chaos after she discovers the body of her beloved mom lying lifeless on the floor.

When the will is read at the office of Gideon, the family lawyer and a close friend, it mentions a locked chest which had been entrusted to him with instructions to pass it on to Dina only after her parents’ deaths.

A terrible secret awaits her inside the chest, perhaps even more terrible than her mother’s death…

Delusion of Love is a collection of short stories about love, jealousy, passion, spontaneity and curiosity, viewed from the perspective of different women of various ages, each one with an inner world of her own.

The motif all the protagonists have in common is a connection between love and loneliness, between the turmoil of drives and emotions and the pain of separation and death, between the tempestuous past they abandoned and the stability they chose instead.

In addition to dealing with romance and relationships between men and women, there is also an encounter with the allure and spiciness of love, daring adventures and fascinating experiences.

Gabriel Bach: Attorney, Judge and Gentleman

4.5 stars on 43 reviews

A Jewish boy physically kicked out of Germany later to become a prosecutor of Adolph Eichmann – the main designer and executioner of the Nazi “Final Solution”.

November 1938, Germany. The Bach Family is on the train – leaving Nazi Germany at the very last moment – two weeks before the notorious “Crystal Night” (‘Kristallnacht’) – which marks the beginning of the first step in the Nazi extermination plan- the massive arrest of Jewish men in Germany. The train is heading towards Holland as a stopover on the family’s way to the Land of Israel (then “Palestine”). Once reaching the border, they hear an SS officer shouting their name: “Where is the Bach family? Get off the train now, with your luggage!” All their belongings are scattered on the ground for the search. The train is about to leave…Finally the order comes: “Okay, take your luggage and get out of here!”

Gabriel Bach – a skinny eleven-year-old boy, finds himself standing on the platform with a heavy suitcase. Suddenly, an SS officer appears behind Gabriel and gives him a strong kick, which lifts him and his suitcase from the platform back onto the train. “I will never forget” says Gabriel Bach in his stunning memoir, “the fact that I was literally kicked out of Germany by the Nazis.”

22 years later, in 1960, that boy, now Deputy State Attorney in Israel Gabriel Bach is appointed as the person in charge of the investigation of Adolph Eichmann, the main designer and executioner of the Nazi “Final Solution”. Then, In April 1961 he becomes one of the three prosecuting attorneys, representing the State of Israel in one of the most talked about court cases in history, The Eichmann trial, which continues to this day to arouse a lot of interest all over the world.

Since then Gabriel Bach held over the years various high positions in the legal system in Israel. As the State Attorney of Israel and, later on, as Justice of the Supreme Court, he was at the center of many other fascinating public, social and political affairs that stirred up the country, which are described in this biography, enabling the reader to understand central issues that Israeli society has dealt with during its first 50 years.

Yet, of all the chapters in his long career, he regards the privilege he has had to speak in court on behalf of the 6 million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis as the event that has had the most profound impact on him professionally and personally. Over the years he has travelled to many countries to speak in front of various audiences, particularly in Germany, about the Eichmann trial and about genocide and crimes against humanity, guided by a sense of mission to raise consciousness to the Holocaust and its implications.

It Happened in Silence

4.7 stars on 124 reviews

Historical Fiction, Suspense

This is a powerful tale of family, a celebration of decency, and the heartbreak of society’s injustices then that rings true today. ★★★★★

Set in a world where women of the KKK betray their neighbors, where horrors of unscrupulous foundling homes come to light, and buried mysteries are not all that hidden. It’s Georgia 1921. Mute since birth, fifteen-year-old Willow Stewart has one task to complete—to leave her Appalachian homestead and find a traveling preacher and her brother, Briar. When a peddler kidnaps her, she escapes only to face an unjust arrest and penal servitude. The laws are not on her side. Or her brother’s.

Briar is serving time on a chain gang with four months left. When an immigrant boy asks him for help, Briar must decide if he should jeopardize his freedom to help the penniless boy.

Soon Willow and Briar become ensnared in a world of cruel secrets, savage truths, deceitful practices, and desperate predicaments.

This novel delves into the gut and sinew of fairness, probing often inexplicable questions, as old and persistent as the forest itself.

What if you woke up in an ambulance and found yourself watching from a distance as paramedics frantically tried to save your life?

What if a beautiful angel named Oleo came to you and gave you the opportunity to see how you could change your past and thereby alter your future?

Elizabeth Elias was a disinherited agoraphobic who hadn’t been out of her house for seven years. Suddenly, she is invited to her niece’s wedding, and she enlists the help of her next-door neighbor, Noelle Splendor, to get her ready for the big day.
But the big day comes, and Elizabeth is shot in the head at the festivities… but by whom? She can’t remember… it’s all too hazy… and she can’t get the paramedics to pay attention to her, because they can’t see or hear her.
Suddenly, Elizabeth finds herself in a forest filled with magic, and she is introduced to the Angel Oleo, who takes her back in time to see where it all went wrong.

During their travels, Elizabeth learns about intimacy by being allowed behind the scenes to see more about her next-door neighbor Noelle’s history. Noelle was widowed at a young age, having lived with an alcoholic for 20 years, and Elizabeth hears the story of a Doctor.

Then Elizabeth must confront her own anger by learning more about her father’s history in the story of a Lawyer. By seeing her father’s life story from his perspective, Elizabeth is able to understand why he disinherited her and suddenly it didn’t hurt as much.

And, lastly, Oleo takes Elizabeth behind the scenes to see what her brother Samuel is really all about. Samuel is one of the biggest Hollywood power brokers in history, an enigma to most of his clients and friends.
